Cambridge’s finest comes to Covent Garden

The Cambridge Satchel Company bags are the just have bag at the moment, they are cute, classic, chic and fun!
Every bag and trunk made by The Cambridge Satchel Company is made in the England. They make satchels in two sizes, as well as beautiful old fashioned style trunks.
The bags come in the traditional shades of black and brown, but also neons, metallics and brights. They even do a few two tone satchels.
I love the fact that The Cambridge Satchel Company make all their products in the UK and the are super affordable. I also love the fact you can get them monogrammed with your initials!
Anyhow, I’m super excited to tell you The Cambridge Satchel Company have just opened a shop in The Seven Dials area of Covent Garden, London. You can find it at 15 Shorts Gardens and it is well worth going! They have bags of all different colours beautifully displayed and even a few trunks!
There are so many bags I have my eye on, and I’m seriously considering asking for a monogrammed trunk for my birthday! The shop is work in progress too, do there will be even more to see round valentines day and London fashion week! Here are some photos, if you are in town, pop in!

There used to be a satchel shop in Covent Garden (Neal Street) in the eighties, which nobody seems to remember except me. It was the tiniest shop ever. It was like walking into a cupboard. You couldn’t look around, the bags (all leather) used to hang from the ceiling. A counter went the full width of the shop (a bit like a dry cleaners’) and a man (who never spoke) would sit behind it sewing the leather together. You went it, pointed to your bag, the man would retrieve it with a long stick, you would pay and leave. They were pretty cheap as I remember. I bought one once, wish I still had it.

I live in Cambridge and have lived in Cambridge my whole life, so it’s so wonderful for me to see how such a local company has made it so big! It makes me so proud to see what was once a small-time home-run business blossom in to a big-time international business that’s featured in Vogue and has a standalone shop in Covent Garden! Amazing, and proof that dreams come true if you put your mind to it! Thank you for this post, brightened my day!

Great blog by the way! ;)

I love these satchels! Thank you to the introduction to them. Sadly being in the US I won’t be able to pop in for a view, but I have found their website and see several that caught my eye.

Thanks for the likes ~ I hope you continue to return! Your thoughts are always welcomed and appreciated.

    Thanks,
    JW
